VMGSim has a number of sizing and rating calculation tools including:

• Vessel Sizing/Rating – Size two and three phase separators with techniques based on Svrcek and Monnery.
  
• Tray Sizing/Rating – Size or rate distillation trays with a number of methods and multiple designs per vessel.
  
• Relief Valve – Calculates the orifice area for a single or two phase relief valve given set of inlet conditions, along with a specified vapor discharge coefficient, liquid discharge coefficient and back pressure using the homogeneous Direct Integration method (HDI) (Appendix B in API-520 8th edition).
  
• GasOrificeMeter – Calculates an orifice’s differential pressure value when given the pipe diameter, orifice diameter, gas flow rate and inlet process conditions, or alternatively calculate the flow rate when an orifice differential pressure is provided. The permanent pressure drop across the orifice as defined by either the ANSI/API 2530 method or the ISO 5167-1 methods.
  
• Heat Exchangers – Rate , Size exchangers and air coolers with links to Xchanger Suite and STX/ACX. Write an input file for HTFS TASC
