We are very proud of our capabilities in thermophysical property prediction. Years of research and development in this area are captured in the property package engine for VMGSim, VMGThermo. VMGThermo is an extremely comprehensive property package engine which includes chemically reactive systems, oil and rigorous multiphase flash.

VMGThermo includes the largest pure component database in the business with more than 5,500 pure components. VMGThermo is the workhorse for VMGSim, but in addition is widely used as a component plug-in engine by many well-known third-party on-line and off-line applications. VMGThermo has become the standard commercial plug-in property package in the business. Engineers may notice that VMGThermo is incorporated in well known software such as HTRI’s Xchanger Suite, Ariel Corporations Compressor, Ferris’s iPrism, Berwanger’s PPM, Ideas’ Operator Training and Dynamic Simulation, General Physic’s EtaPro MarginMax and Batch Process Technologies’ Batch.

VMGSim offers a comprehensive suite of critically evaluated data for over 5500 pure components and a mixture interaction parameter database of over 100,000 binary parameters.

Advanced Crude Oil Characterization

VMG features a powerful, easy-to-use and accurate package for the characterization of crude oils. A comprehensive selection of distillation curve interconversion methods in volume, mass or mole are provided including TBP, D86, D1160, D1160 Vacuum, D2887 and an option to create a curve from simply bulk properties. A wide range of additional data such as Density Curves, Molecular Weight Curves, Viscosity data can be included in the assay description.

A full range of interconversion methods, property estimation methods and curve interpolation and extrapolation methods are offered as options. Light-ends may be input with the assay or back-calculated from the assay. Also there is the unique ability to match the bulk oil density as a function of temperature data. Multiple assays and multiple blends can be managed and utilized in a simulation case and changes to assays or blends are automatically reflected in the simulation model.
