General Information

VMGSim offers accurate robust and cost effective process simulation models to predict the detailed behavior of process units and plants. Whether designing new process units, optimizing or troubleshooting, VMGSim assists engineers to improve operating efficiency and product quality, realize objectives of reduced capital and operating costs, greater safety and increased profitability. The capabilities of VMGSim enables reliable modeling and prediction of the behavior of most process units in the Oil & Gas, Refining, Chemical and Petrochemical industries. In addition, VMGSim has the capabilities to model acid gas treating and sulfur recovery processes including amine sweetening, Claus and tailgas treating.

VMGSim uses the extremely popular interactive calculation principles of non-sequential, unit operation calculations with partial data flow, which were developed in the late 1970’s in Calgary and which are considered to be the fastest approach developed for developing and evaluating process models. As a result, models may be developed, debugged and optimized quickly. There is no faster way to configure and optimize models.

VMGSim is quite easy to learn as a result of the modern Windows-style user interface and the use of Visio as the graphical input engine. It is particularly well designed to build complex multi-unit models by building or retrieving sub-model templates, assigning them unique component and thermodynamic models and having the option to solve these units as an integrated flowsheet or individually.
